British author Bernardine Evaristo has become the first black woman to win the prize in its 50 year history;

and Canadian writer Margaret Atwood the oldest author to win at 79.

The two women are sharing the spotlight, after the Booker prize panel of judges decided to break the rules, and split the 50,000 pound prize.
