Boeing Starliner Goes Off Course After Launch

Boeing's new Starliner capsule ran into trouble and went off course in orbit, Friday, December 20, minutes after blasting off on its first test flight — a crucial dress rehearsal for next year's inaugural launch with astronauts.

Everything was going flawlessly as the Atlas V rocket soared with the Starliner, just before sunrise.

A half-hour into the flight, though, Boeing reported the capsule wouldn't get into the necessary position to dock with the International Space Station. (AP)
