According to Reuters, the US Air Force accepted its first KC-46 tanker jet made by Boeing.

An Air Force spokeswoman said that the long-delayed tanker was delivered on Jan. 10th.

Captain Hope Cronin added that the delivery also marks a major milestone for the next generation tanker.

The Air Force plans to buy 179 of Boeing's latest tanker jet, and expects to receive up to 4 more jets later this month.

For now, the KC-46 tanker will be stationed at McConnell Air Force base in Kansas, where an acceptance ceremony will likely be held.
