Italian Prime Minister Guiseppe Conte met European Union leaders in Brussels on Wednesday, shortly after winning confidence votes in his new government.

Outgoing European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker and European Council President-elect Charles Michel held separate meetings with the former academic.

On his first visit to the EU since becoming head of a government backed by the anti-establishment Five Star Movement and centre-left Democratic Party (PD), Conte called for budget and migration reform.
