EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, European Parliament President Antonio Tajani, Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel arrived at the EU headquarters to attend Theresa's May briefing and discuss a possible Brexit extension.
"If they stay, they vote. But how long they want to stay? This is the problem, if there are elections they will be member of the European Parliament," EP President Antonio Tajani said.
The Irish Taoiseach appeared confident that "there will be an extension agreed today," adding "the vast majority of people here in the European Union appreciate that the United Kingdom is in a difficult position."
"It's with much impatience that I'm going to listen to Theresa May, but for me nothing is settled," said French President Emmanuel Macron.
