Foreign tourists joined scores of Thais in spraying each other with water on the streets of Bangkok on Saturday, to celebrate Songkran - Thailand's New Year Water Festival, where people all over the country participate in huge street water fights.
The three-day festival marks the start of Thailand's traditional New Year and is believed to wash away bad luck.
People sprayed and threw water using buckets, water hoses and super soakers on their family and friends, bringing them good luck for the New Year. Monks also blessed people by sprinkling water over their heads. Tourists also took part in the water fights alongside locals.
"This has been nothing but fun. All you do is run around in a huge water fight. I love it, it's a great great time," said one tourist.
