Arab warplanes and warships pounded Houthi fortifications Wednesday to support ground operations by foreign and Yemeni troops. It's reported that UAE forces and local allies penetrated the Houthis' front line on the Hodeidah airport perimeter. The operation began after a three-day deadline set by the UAE for the Houthis to quit the port. Now Yemen is experiencing a humanitarian crisis eclipsing even Syria's. The Arab states say they will try to keep the port running. They say they can ease the crisis once seizing the port by lifting import restrictions they have imposed.
