A bomb went off near a major government office in southern Thailand, Tuesday, March 17, wounding at least 20.

A grenade and a a car bomb were used to attack the Southern Border Provinces Administration Center in the Yala province.

Local officials were present at a meeting about COVID-19.

There were no initial claims of of responsibility, however southern Thailand has been the scene of a violent Muslim separatist insurgency since 2004. (AP)
