Three people were reportedly killed and 42 injured after a fire engulfed a high-rise building in Kabul on Thursday night, officials reported on Friday.

The fire reportedly broke out as a result of a gas leakage in a petrol station next to the building.

Footage shows the aftermath of the blaze, with the gas station, residential building, and nearby vehicles damaged by the flames.

"The accident began while the petrol station personnel were discharging gas. Suddenly an explosion happened and a flame surrounded residential buildings," a restaurant employee said.
