Ministry: Reports about Plitvice Lakes National Park's removal from UNESCO list unfounded

The Croatian Environmental Protection and Energy Ministry on Friday dismissed as unfounded media reports that the Plitvice National Park faced the risk of being removed from the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, stressing that it was doing its best to reduce visitor pressure on Plitvice and remove UNESCO's objections.

5-language mobile application for tourists visiting Plitvice launched

A mobile application in five languages intended to facilitate easier planning of tourists' visits to Plitvice Lakes and the region of Lika has been launched recently, the Rakovica Tourist Board has reported.

Plitvice Lakes could be placed on World Heritage in Danger list

Croatia will more than likely have to request the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to convene the World Heritage Committee to conduct the process of Reactive Monitoring to determine whether conditions exist to remove the Plitvice Lakes from the World Heritage List to the World Heritage in Danger List which would be a national disaster, the nature park's management has reported.
