Proposal to give advantage to jobseekers who served in army slammed

Labour and Pension System Minister Tomislav Coric said on Friday the proposal by HVIDRA veterans association president Josip Djakic, that persons who served in the army should be given preferential treatment while seeking for jobs in the state administration and state-owned companies, was not good.

The leader of the association of Homeland Defence War veterans that goes by the name HVIDRA and a Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) parliamentarian, Josip Djakic, on Friday said that HVIDRA did not support the idea to organise meetings of veterans from Croatia and Serbia as long as former Serbian soldiers and paramilitaries did not sincerely apologise for the aggression they had launched against Croatia.

"Those veterans were members of the Serbian authorities at the time of paramilitary units and aggression on Croatia, together with incumbent President Tomislav Nikolic and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic. They are all Chetniks," said Djakic.

HVIDRA distances itself from talks between "self-proclaimed" veterans', political parties

The association of disabled war veterans which goes by the acronym HVIDRA on Wednesday distanced itself from current and possible future actions by what it called "self-proclaimed representatives" of Homeland War veterans and victims who lately have been holding frequent meetings with representatives of some political camps.
