Turkish interior minister: 8,113 arrested and 15,846 detained since coup attempt

Turkey has arrested 8,113 people, of 15,846 detained, since the July 15 coup attempt, Interior Minister Efkan Ala tells broadcaster A Haber.

Of those detained, about 10,000 are from the military, including 178 generals, Ala says.

Some 5,200 soldiers were arrested, including 151 at the rank of general and more than 1,600 officers.

Also, 1,684 judges and prosecutors were arrested.
