Syrian opposition rejects Kurdish federal system

The main Syrian opposition National Coalition rejects a federal system approved by the country's Kurds, saying the move "confiscates" the will of Syrians.

"Determining the form of the Syrian state, whether central or federal, is not a decision of one faction alone," the Western-backed alliance says in a statement.

"This will be determined after [current peace] negotiations reach a stage when a constituent conference for Syria is held to draft a new constitution," the statement continues.
