Suicide bomber kills three at police facility in Afghanistan

A suicide bomber blew up his explosives-laden vehicle outside a local police training facility in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, killing three officers.

Twelve people, including two children, were wounded in the attack in the Nad Ali district of Helmand province, said Amar Zwak, a spokesman for Helmand's governor.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the bombing.

Helmand is one of the country's most restive provinces.

The Afghan government is in control of the provincial capital while the rest of Helmand is either heavily contested or controlled by Taliban militants.
