South Korea fires warning shots at North Korean vessel

The South Korean navy fired warning shots at two boats from North Korea that crossed the disputed boundary in the Yellow Sea west of the peninsula, Seoul officials said Friday.

After the shots, the North Korean patrol boat and fishing vessel changed course and returned to North Korean waters, the South's Joint Chiefs of Staff said.

Military and civilian craft from North Korea make relatively frequent crossings of the Northern Limit Line, drawn up by the United Nations at the end of the 1950-53 Korean war.
