Six Turkish citizens who were kidnapped this month by pirates off the coast of Nigeria have been freed, Turkey's state-run Anadolu news agency reported Tuesday, citing a lawyer for the company.
The kidnapping took place on April 11 off Port Harcourt. Pirates in the area, who often reportedly demand ransoms, have long posed a threat to trade routes.
The report said the crew was in good health. No other details were given about the release.
