Russia: US drone was flying overhead when UN convoy burst into flames

Russia's Defence Ministry says a US-designed Predator drone was flying overhead in Syria when a United Nations convoy was "allegedly hit with an airstrike."

The drone arrived at a height of 3,600 metres above Urum al-Kubra, a town in Aleppo province, a few minutes before the UN convoy burst into flames on Monday evening, the Russian Defence Ministry's spokesman, General Igor Konashenkov, says in comments carried by state news agency TASS.

The drone left the site half an hour after the incident, Konashenkov says.
