A "strong suspect" is in custody in the city of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Sunday after a shooting spree in the northern US city that left at least seven dead, according to local TV stations citing police.
The shootings, seemingly at random, occurred in a parking lot, at a popular restaurant chain and at a car dealership late Saturday. Two others were reported wounded. One of the dead was an 8-year-old child, reported broadcaster WOOD.
“This is your worst case scenario,” Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Paul Matyas told the broadcaster. "I don't think there is a why," he told WOOD.
Questioning of the suspect is still under way.
