Report: Russia, US agree on full ceasefire in Syria for April 30

Russia and the United States have agreed to a full ceasefire in Syria for April 30, Russian state news agency TASS reports, citing an undisclosed source.

The "day of silence" will primarily affect the provinces of Aleppo, Latakia and Damascus, where fighting against militant groups has lately been intense, the report said.

Russia and the US brokered a ceasefire in Syria in February, but the agreement did not affect fighting against UN-designated terrorist organizations such as Islamic State and the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front.
