Report: Islamic State claims responsibility for Dhaka attack

The Islamic State extremist group reportedly claims responsibility for the attack on a Spanish restaurant in Bangladeshi capital Dhaka.

Rita Katz, director of US-based SITE Intelligence group, says on Twitter that Islamic State commandos attacked the Dhaka restaurant frequented by foreigners.

Quoting Amaq, one of Islamic State's media arms, Katz writes: “More update from #ISIS' Amaq about the #Dhaka #Bangladesh attack claims: More than 20 foreigners killed.” ISIS is another term for Islamic State.

The claim can not be independently verified.
