Putin: Planned ceasefire a "real step" in ending Syrian bloodshed

Russian President Vladimir Putin calls a ceasefire agreement struck between Russia and the United States a "real step that can stop the bloodshed" in Syria.

The agreement sets an example in multilateral efforts to combat terrorism, Putin says in a televised speech.

Russia will now hold talks with the Syrian government in order to implement the truce, which is set to begin on Saturday.
