One dead, several wounded in Texas shooting: emergency services

A woman in her 30s has died and several people are wounded following a shooting in Austin, in the US state of Texas, early Sunday, emergency services said.

The Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services tweeted that there were "multiple incidents occurring" and multiple patients with gunshot wounds.

Austin police said on Twitter that there were "separate shootings within the same area. Both scenes are secure at this time."

Earlier police tweeted that there were "multiple victims" from an "active shooter incident" in the centre of Austin, and asked people to stay away from the area.
