North Korea probably capable of fitting nuclear warhead on missile

North Korea is probably capable of fitting a nuclear warhead onto one of its existing missiles, a think tank said Monday.

"From the technical perspective, North Korea is seen as being able to mount a nuclear warhead on its short-range Scud and medium-range Rodong missiles," said Choi Jin Wook, president of the Korea Institute for National Unification.

Choi made the remarks in an interview with Yonhap News Agency.

Pyongyang attempted to fire a mid-range Musudan missile on Friday, but the launch failed, Yonhap reported.

Also on Monday, South Korea's defence ministry said that Pyongyang might conduct an underground nuclear test, although no date was given, according to another Yonhap report.
