No comments from US on Russian withdrawal of troops from Syria

The United States has no comment on reports that Russia is preparing to withdraw most of the troops it has sent to Syria.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said he hadn't seen the reports and therefore would not comment on them directly. State Department spokesman John Kirby also has not comment.

Earnest however says US Secretary of State John Kerry has been in regular touch with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and many of their conversations have focused on the Russian military intervention in Syria and how counterproductive the United States believes it has been to the peace talks.
