Melania Trump says husband's comments about women "offensive" to her

Donald Trump's wife has condemned comments her husband made about women revealed in a leaked recording from 2005.

"The words my husband used are unacceptable and offensive to me," Melania Trump said in a statement.

"This does not represent the man that I know," she continued. "He has the heart and mind of a leader."

She said she hoped people would accept his apology, adding that she had, and would "focus on the important issues facing our nation and the world.”
