At least 30 killed, 63 injured in Iraq suicide attack

At least 30 people were killed and over 63 others injured in a suicide attack carried out Monday in Muqdadiyah city in Diyala province, north-east of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, medical and security sources said.

A suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt blew himself up inside a funeral where members of the Popular Mobilization Forces, a paramilitary group known for fighting Islamic State, were present, the sources added.

The number of casualties is expected to rise due to the severity of the injuries, the sources said.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
