Hezbollah calls Shiite cleric's execution an "assassination"

Saudi Arabia's execution of prominent Shiite cleric Nimr al-Nimr was an "assassination," says Lebanon's pro-Iranian Shiite Hezbollah movement.

"Hezbollah categorically condemns the heinous crime committed by the Saudi regime represented in the assassination of the eminent scholar and jihadist Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr on flimsy pretexts and corrupt court rulings," the party added, in a statement aired by its broadcaster, al-Manar.
