The body of the 35-year-old woman, who has been identified by police as Melanie Guerin, was found near the Siddhartha highway, Bir Bahadur Pulami, Syangja district’s superintendent of police, confirmed to dpa.
"The search and rescue team used ropes to reach the site. Her body was badly decomposed, her face was unrecognizable. Her friends identified her through her bracelets," Pulami said.
He said the woman's body had been sent to a state-run hospital in Kathmandu for a postmortem.
