Eight killed, 20 missing after boat capsizes in Bangladesh

At least eight people were killed and 20 others were missing after an engine-propelled boat capsized in Bangladesh on Saturday, said an official.

The dead were six children and two women.

Police in the Narsingdi district east of Dhaka said an overloaded passenger boat capsized around 11:30 am local time (0530 GMT) on Arial Kha river.

Local chief-of-police Azharul Islam said local people recovered bodies of the victims and the fire service has started a rescue operation.
