The US has killed a top Islamic State leader who oversaw the group's financial operations, US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter says.
Abdul al-Rahman Mustafa al-Qaduli, also known as Hajji Iman, was killed as part of US efforts to "systematically eliminate (Islamic State's) cabinet," Carter says.
Al-Qaduli was in charge of the group's finances and the death will hamper the group's ability to conduct operations, Carter says.
Carter would not provide details of the operation that killed al-Qaduli.
