A South Korean court approved an arrest warrant for former South Korean president Park Geun Hye early Friday, the Yonhap news agency reported.
Park faces charges of "bribery, coercion, abuse of power and disclosure of state secrets," the report said.
Park had herself appeared before the court on Thursday. Prosecutors requested her arrest on Monday, after having spent 14 hours interrogating her last week.
Park, 65, South Korea's first female president, was impeached by the National Assembly in December on charges of colluding with her close friend Choi Soon Sil to extort money from top South Korean companies and of allowing her confidante to interfere with state affairs.
The impeachment removed the immunity that had protected Park from criminal prosecution.
