18 Iraqi soldiers killed in Islamic State suicide attack

Eighteen Iraqi soldiers have been killed in a suicide car bombing by Islamic State in the northern town of Qayyara, a senior army commander says.

The bombing targeted anti-terrorism personnel during a mopping-up campaign against the extremist militia in the centre of Qayyara, Nejm al-Jabouri, the commander of the military operations in the area, adds.
