10 dead in police raid on Mexican criminal gang

A Mexican police operation against a suspected criminal group on the US border left 10 people dead on Sunday, authorities said.

Gun battles erupted in the border city of Reynosas, Mexico, as gang members fled. They left cars and trucks blocking the road behind them, and several vehicles were set ablaze.

Four Mexican security officers were injured when their vehicle overturned in the north-eastern state of Tamaulipas during the pursuit.
