Young Croats from abroad to volunteer in Krka National Park this summer

Around 40 young Croats from Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Macedonia, Romania, Germany and Bosnia and Herzegovina will spend 20 days in the Croatian coastal town of Sibenik this summer as part of the Eco Heritage Task Force 2016, participating in projects related to the Sibenik fort and archaeological research around the Burnum locality.

A cooperation agreement to that effect was signed earlier this week by Sibenik Mayor Zeljko Buric, Krka National Park Director Kresimir Sakic and Croatian Heritage Foundation Director Marin Knezovic as the organiser of the Heritage Task Force.

Mayor Buric expressed his pleasure that young Croats from abroad would be visiting Sibenik, particularly since this year it will mark the 950th year of its first mention.

Knezevic underscored that the Eco Heritage Task Force was one of those programmes in which the enthusiasm of young Croats from abroad "inspire us every time and fill us with pride."

This year's Heritage Task Force will concentrate on maintaining sections of pathways in Krka National Park around the Roski waterfall and on archaeological explorations in the Burnum locality.
