Women's World Cup slalom in Maribor abandoned

The women's alpine ski World Cup slalom in Maribor was abandoned Sunday after 25 starters on the first of the two planned runs.

The race jury ended the race after poor conditions worsened at the Slovenian venue amid high temperatures and rain. The results will not count.

The women's World Cup is scheduled to continue next weekend at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. However, Sunday's men's giant slalom at Garmisch-Partenkirchen was cancelled due to poor conditions.
