Thailand's Tanasan tops Asian Olympic podium sweep in women's lifting

Thailand's Sopita Tanasan led an Asian sweep on Saturday as the first weightlifting medals of the Rio Games were awarded in the women's 48-kilo event.

Tanasan, 21, led the snatch with 92kg and added 108 in the clean and jerk for a winning total of 200kg.

Sri Wahyuni of Indonesia took silver with 192kg and the bronze went to Japan's Hiromi Miyake who had silver in 2012 which also saw three Asians on top.
