Record winner Stephane Peterhansel secured his 13th Dakar Rally victory when he held off fellow Peugeot driver Sebastian Loeb in the final stage in Argentina on Saturday.
The 51-year-old Frenchman completed the run to Buenos Aires 19 seconds behind Loeb which was enough to claim the over title by 5 minutes 13 seconds.
Cyril Despres ensured a Peugeot podium sweep though he was more than half an hour behind the winner.
After six motorcycle wins in the rally, Peterhansel now has seven on four wheels and retains the title won in 2016.
However, his latest victory was aided by judges crediting him with time following a crash with biker Simon Marcic in an earlier stage, as Peterhansel waited on the scene until medical help arrived for Marcic.
