Barcelona midfield star Ivan Rakitic believes Croatia have huge potential at Euro 2016 and the team plans on giving the people back home something to celebrate.
"It's time for Croatia to finally achieve something great again. We want to make our people proud," Rakitic told a press conference on Friday.
"We believe in ourselves and we have a good combination of experienced and young players who nearly all play with big clubs in Europe."
Croatia, who kick off their Euro 2016 campaign on Sunday against Turkey in Paris, have reached two European Championship quarter-finals - in 1996 and 2008. The football team's biggest moment came in 1998 when Croatia finished third at the 1998 World Cup - which also took place in France.
