Hoffenheim's Bicakcic extends contract to 2020

Hoffenheim central defender Ermin Bicakcic has extended his contract to 2020, the Bundesliga club said Friday.

"I'm pleased, that was important for me," coach Julian Nagelsmann said. "He has a meaningful role on and off the pitch."

The 26-year-old Bosnian international Bicakcic joined Hoffenheim from Eintracht Braunschweig in 2014 and his previous deal was due to expire at the end of this season.

Hoffenheim are currently 11th in the Bundesliga table and host Schalke, who are still without a point, on Sunday.

Niklas Suele, Andrej Kramaric and Sandro Wagner are set to return from injury to be available for the contest, according to Nagelsmann.
