Croatian rower Damir Martin wins silver in photo finish against Olympic champion

Croatian rower Damir Martin has won a silver medal in the men's single sculls at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

New Zealand's Mahe Drysdale won the gold while the Czech Ondrey Synek, a three-time consecutive world champion, won the bronze.

Drysdale and Martin crossed the finish line with the same times (6:41.34), but after an additional inspection of the recording of the race, the gold medal went to Drysdale.

The gold went to Drysdale by a margin of 5,000ths of a second. This is also third Olympic medal for Croatia.
