Croatian captain Srna to return to squad for Czech game

Croatia captain Darijo Srna will return to his team's squad ahead of Friday's Euro 2016 meeting with the Czech Republic in St Etienne having left France to attend his father's funeral.

"Darijo is coming back," coach Ante Cacic was quoted in the media as saying Tuesday, with the player expected to arrive later in the day. "He will be there (against the Czech Republic). He is a stable and strong personality."

Srna's father died around the time of Croatia's opening Group D victory over Turkey on Monday - though the player was only told of the death afterwards.

Srna did not return with the team to their camp in Deauville, France, but instead travelled to his hometown in Croatia, Metkovic, for the funeral, which Cacic also attended.
