CAS to hear Serbia appeal over Kosovo in October

A Serbian appeal against the admission of Kosovo as a UEFA member will be heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on October 31.

The case was brought by the Serbia Football Association following the decision by European football body UEFA in May to approve Kosovo as a member.

Kosovo was then admitted by football world governing body FIFA, and earlier this month made its debut on the international football stage with a 1-1 draw in Finland in World Cup qualifiers.

Serbia refuses to recognize Kosovo as a state after its former province declared independence in 2008.
