Biography about Luka Modric published in Madrid

The book "Luka Modrich: El Hijo de la guerra" (Luka Modric; The Son of War, unofficial translation) by Spanish sports reporters Vicente Azpitarte and Jose Manuel Puertas, will be launched in Madrid on Wednesday.

The 208-page book about Modric's childhood and his path towards Real Madrid has been released for sale in Spanish book stores.

Biographies about football players have become very popular in recent years. Spanish authors have also written books about Christiano Ronaldo, agent Jorge Mendes, coach Jose Mourinho and Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

The biography "Ivan Rakitic: The New Architect of Camp Noua", published last April, was written by Spanish sports reporter Alberto Fernandez.

Modric is a Croatian footballer who plays for Spanish club Real Madrid and the Croatian national team. He plays mainly as a central midfielder but can also play as an attacking and defensive midfielder. In 2012, Modric signed a five-year contract with , Real Madrid. In 2014, Modric signed a new contract to stay at Real Madrid until 2018.
