New car sales jump 22 pct in May

In May 2016, 6,090 new passengers were sold, up 21.8 percent on the year, while over the first five months of 2016, 20,143 cars were sold, up 19.5% on the year, the Promocija Plus market research agency has said.

The biggest seller among manufacturers in May was Renault, with 865 cars sold, followed by Volkswagen, with 793 cars sold and Opel with 633.

Over the first five months of the year, the Volkswagen Group sold the most cars (2,793), followed by Opel (1,995) and Renault (1,784).
