Divers searching a river harbour in south-western Germany have found the body of the third victim from this week's explosion at a plant belonging to chemicals giant BASF, a police spokeswoman said Wednesday.
However, an autopsy will have to be conducted before authorities can definitively confirm it is the body of a sailor who was reported missing after the blast two days ago, the spokeswoman added.
The explosion and ensuing fire, which killed two members of BASF's fire service and seriously injured six other people, occurred in the harbour near the company's Ludwigshafen headquarters.
The prosecutors' office in nearby Frankenthal has ordered autopsy reports and launched an investigation on suspicion of negligent homicide, negligent bodily harm and negligence resulting in an explosion.
