Theresa May arrives at palace as queen accepts Cameron's resignation

Theresa May arrives at Buckingham Palace to be officially confirmed as Britain's new prime minister by Queen Elizabeth II, who has accepted David Cameron's resignation.

A palace statement says the queen is "graciously pleased to accept" Cameron's resignation.

Following her audience with the queen, May is scheduled to speak to reporters outside the prime minister's residence in central London.
