Russia: NATO called bilateral council meeting without telling us

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced a meeting of the Western military alliance's bilateral Russia council without actually informing Russia, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says.

"The NATO-Russia Council works on a consensual basis. If they want to discuss this [meeting], then they can with us, and not just get on the microphone," Lavrov says in comments carried by state news agency TASS.
