Report: Shootout in Brussels during raid related to Paris attacks

A shootout involving Belgian police took place Tuesday in the southern Brussels neighbourhood of Forest, following a raid related to last year's terrorist attacks in Paris, Belgian media reported.

Three federal police officers were lightly injured, the Belga news agency wrote. Other media outlets reported that gunfire from a Kalashnikov rifle had been involved.

The suspected gunman is on the run, according to Belga.

The area - located near a factory of German carmaker Audi - has been secured by the police, according to media reports.

The November 13 attacks in Paris had left 130 people dead and hundreds injured, after gunmen and suicide bombers targeted the Stade de France stadium, the Bataclan concert hall, cafes and bars.

Several of the suspected attackers had links to neighbouring Belgium.
