Passengers injured in stabbing attack on German train; Attacker was 17-year-old Afghan

Wuerzburg (dpa) - A man critically injured passengers in a slashing attack aboard a train near Wuerzburg in the southern German state of Bavaria, police said late Monday.

The commuter train was travelling from Treuchtlingen to Wuerzburg at the time of the attack.

Police said they stormed the train, but would not confirm media reports that the attacker was shot dead.

The attacker who critically wounded three people in a slashing attack aboard a train near Wuerzburg in the southern German state of Bavaria was a 17-year-old Afghan, Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann tells broadcaster ARD.
