Belgian police have arrested another person suspected of having played a role in the March terrorist attacks in Brussels, prosecutors said Friday.
The 31-year-old Belgian national, identified only as Ali E H A, has been charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist group, as well as terrorist murder and attempted terrorist murder as a perpetrator, co-perpetrator or accomplice, the federal prosecutor's office said in a statement.
It did not specify what exact role the suspect played in the March attacks, which left more than 30 people dead at the Belgian capital's international airport and an underground railway station.
"Currently no further information will be given in the interest of the investigation," the prosecutors' statement said.
The newspaper Le Soir reported that the suspect has been linked to a hideout in the Brussels neighbourhood of Etterbeek from which the attacker who targeted the underground railway station had set off.
Ali E H A was taken into custody during a house search carried out in the neighbourhood of Schaerbeek on Thursday, the prosecutors said. He is the seventh suspect to be taken into custody in connection with the Brussels attacks.
